The 99 islands that make up the Langkawi archipelago, coupled with its mountains and beaches make this place highly unique while its forests and seaside resorts are extremely amazing as well.

Official UNESCO Geopark Site

UNESCO declared Langkawi as a Geopark where it is known for its highly original impressive rock formations which have been around for millions of years.

Apart from that, there are the ancient jungle, the caves here and the mangrove reveries, all of which makes this place all the more exciting.

Visitors to Langkawi Island enjoy some of the most beautiful beaches here where the Langkawi Geopark is primarily made up of 3 major areas namely, the Kilim Karst Geoforest Park, the Machinchang Cambrian Geoforest Park and the Dayang Bunting Marble Geoforest Park respectively.

Located at 3 ends of the island, the 3 areas collectively give Langkawi Island its distinct characteristic where it remains as the first place in Southeast Asia to receive the UNESCO-endorsed Geopark recognition.
